McCarthy Architecture was selected to assist Valley View Christian Church in updating their church. Central to the scope of work was a redesign of the main entry lobby which leads into the sanctuary. This area is used as the main congregation space before and after services. New lighting and architectural features help warm the lobby and invite people to stay longer in this area, while also creating a hub for weekly activities and events.
In addition to the work at the entry lobby, updates and repairs were also completed to a lower portion of the church that houses a gym and youth spaces. At the gym, exterior structural and waterproofing repairs were completed in an area at which water entry had occurred and damaged the gymnasium floor. The hardwood basketball playing surface was replaced, and a serving kitchen was added. In the youth spaces, a series of smaller classrooms were combined into 2 larger classrooms to allow for more flexibility in planning youth activities. In addition, new carpet was installed and walls were repainted.
