McCarthy Architecture was selected to assist Saint Andrew Kim Catholic Church as the architect of record to complete the design and production of their new church home in Las Colinas. The sanctuary is a 45 foot tall volume with a capacity of 700. An education wing houses classrooms, administration, a fellowship hall, a commercial kitchen and priest’s quarters. The building is clad in a brick veneer with a sloped metal roof. Sanctuary interiors are a combination of stone, stained glass and slate. Due to highly expansive soils, the building is set on a foundation of suspended concrete planks over a crawl space. Construction was completed on time and under budget.
