McCarthy Architecture partnered with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers and the City of Plano on a renovation/expansion of restroom and maintenance facilities at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. Due to increasing attendance since the park’s opening, the existing 1990’s restroom facilities at the site were significantly inadequate. To address this need, McCarthy Architecture developed a new restroom building which features vandal-resistant fixtures to minimize long-term maintenance and repair. A critical component of this new facility was ensuring that it blended architecturally with the balance of the nature preserve structures. Upon completion of the new restroom building, the existing restrooms will be converted into a family restroom along with a maintenance storage facility.
